Scotland's original producers of

Water Buffalo Milk Soap

Just one of the lotions and potions we make by
hand
on our croft from natural ingredients.
If we don't have the balm or massage oil you
need, we can probably make it to order.

Thanks for visiting my croft! My name is Rebecca Winkle. I live in a croft (photo below) in Scarfskerry, one of the most northerly villages on the Scottish mainland. When you buy one of my lotions and potions, you get ingredients grown and picked and mixed by me, to ancient recipes. Any money I make goes to look afer the animals. Thank you for buying something - let the animals say thank you!

Left: When I get a little time, I like to paint. You can commission a large original oil painting from between £99 and £195! [includes a very low hourly rate]

Right: When my parents' favorite cat died, I painted this stone from the local beach. Now he can sit in his favorite place near the fireplace forever. Would you like to remember a beloved pet like this?

"As a busy crofter and mother I wanted to create a beauty regime that was quick and simple but worked. It also has to be as chemical free as possible.

So inspired by the beautiful plants and countryside around me I created a simple selection of soaps and balms using the herbs I grow and see around me and locally sourced ingredients that I couldn't produce myself. The result is home made soaps and skin balms locally grown and produced containing no artificial additives or chemicals. I feel we are very careful about what we put inside our bodies, looking for simple, locally produced organic foods and I wanted to do the same for my skin.As a trained artist, I am inspired by the clean, cold air and hardy herbs that grow so far north. I feel they have a special benefit for our skin, not least because they are bathed in the solar rays of the Northern lights on clear crisp winter nights.

More scientifically, Bog Myrtle [Myrica gale] grown here in the North of Scotland has been tested and proved to possess more of its anti-ageing properties than anywhere else in the world! "

Boots Company PLC has developed products using the essential oil extracted from bog myrtle, a native plant of the Highlands and Islands. Researchers at the chemists have discovered that bog myrtle oil has properties that slow down the skin ageing process and is effective in combating acne.
