memories of Stanley
Stanley recently passed away. He wasn't the biggest, but he was wonderful with the children
The pigs
This is Poppy with her multicolored piglets. It's a hard life being a mother!
Recognise these two? They grow up so quickly!
Our iron age pig, doing what she does best - rooting!
Just looking....
The horses
Going to visit the horses
In the paddock

Winni, our Shetland pony.

Winni in the snow - time to get in the stables I think!

Bela. My favourite horse at the local stables when I used to live
in
Cornwall. I couldn't bear to be parted from her, so the stable
owner
sold her to me and we came to Caithness together.

Bela in the snow!

Bailey - he has a western style saddle so we can ride him like a
cowboy to round up the water buffaloes!
Please note - we don't have all of the animals
all the time. We don't have that much money!
As the years go by we buy some and sell others, but we keep their
photos here
so we will never forget them.
Holly, our golden retriever

Holly chasing the chickens. They are best of friends, but
sometimes Holly thinks that friends should chase eash other!
The water buffaloes

The water buffaloes, or gruffaloes as we call them.
As the name suggests, water buffaloes love the wet!

In the distance you can just see the castle of Mey. This was the
Queen Mother's favorite home.

They were nervous at first, but now they feel at home.

Hiding in the long grass

Having a rest

Saying hello to the pigs

Getting used to the weather. (Don't worry, they also have a barn.)
The goats

Say hello to Orbis!

The children enjoy looking after the goats.

The kids are so cute!

Here the goats do what they do best - they eat!
The cows

Mother and daughter

This is Clover, our Jersey cow, looking for someone to pat her
head.
The chickens

We have free range eggs - VERY free range!
Sometimes we cannot find where they are
laid, and they hatch into chicks.

Say hello to Clucky

One of the cockerals, strutting his stuff.
The geese

Lastly, the geese. We didn't buy any geese. They just found us.
If you have a large pond, the geese will just come!

A little exercise is a good thing.

Nobody told them they are supposed to fly south when it snows!
Actually, this IS the south. Some of these geese are from Siberia!
And not forgetting...

Mother duck and her family

And Moses, the cat. Wake up! There are mice to catch!
